The Editor of Press and Tower is Joel Natalie. He developed an interest in broadcasting and media through performing in skits at Boy Scouts and church, and DJing dances after basketball games in high school. Joel went on to earn a BA in Communication Arts from Gannon University, winning the department’s Outstanding Student award his senior year.

Out of college, he became an air personality in local Erie, PA radio, with stints at WJET, WDOE (Dunkirk-Fredonia), WSEG, and WXKC. In 1985 Joel was hired as a Marketing Director for Film House, Inc. of Nashville, TN. As a part of the the world’s leading producer of broadcast marketing campaigns for radio stations, he worked directly with General Managers, Program Directors and their air talent in markets like Toronto, Montreal, Buffalo, Miami, Norfolk, Honolulu, Albany, and many others.

In 1990, Joel returned to the Erie area as the General Manager of WCTL 106.3, a position he held for 14 years. During his tenure he conducted a power increase and tower move, studio relocation, and physical plant upgrades. In 2003, Radio and Records noted that WCTL had the 8th highest share of audience in the United States for Contemporary Christian formatted stations, and was number one in the northeast region.

Since 2004 Joel has held the position of Director of Communications and Technology at McLane Church in Edinboro, PA, where he maintains the communications strategy and branding for the fast-growing evangelical church of 1300. Meanwhile he has been helping non-profits in their marketing strategies through his NatalieMedia consultancy. He has also channeled his passion for writing, media, and politics through his Radio Free JoJo blog, which he has maintained since 2005.

Joel, his wife Debbie and their three children reside in Erie, Pennsylvania.
