Queen of all media, meet the Queen of Self-Esteem.
Erie motivational speaker and small-business networking consultant Heidi Parr Kerner says on her Facebook profile that she can “help you transform the way you express who you are so you can speak, sell, persuade and communicate in the world!”
Now she wants to do that with women across the nation.
Parr Kerner has submitted an entry in the “Oprah’s Search for the Next TV Star” contest. It’s an online voting opportunity that’s wrapping up Sunday morning at 2:59 AM Erie time.
Her idea is to produce “Heidi”:
An Interactive TV Show for Women “Living Your Life from the Inside Out.” It is an opportunity for women to get the support – guidance, nurturance and structure – to practice Daily Disciplines as they face their daily life’s journey. This video demonstrates real women in a Women’s Empowerment Session, sharing the tools, techniques and inspiration that they have acquired from being a part of a group.
The good thing about this voting as opposed to the Pepsi Refresh voting is that while the Top 5 votes winners will move on to the next round, Oprah and her producers will get who they want, so another 35 people will be chosen from open casting calls or other online entries.
Still, the more votes the better. To see Parr-Kerner’s audition and to vote go to the new Oprah Winfrey Network website.

Heidi must have woken up this morning and read Erie Blogs!
There her hubby, Paul Kerner, published his blog post.
His blog, “The Guy From Erie—Erie, Pa Un-plugged!”, hosted a new post and is on Erie Blogs now.
It is titled:
“Why Manufacturing Jobs CAN’T Be Lost: Economics 101″
This post was published July 14, 2010 at 11:20 pm and “Un-plugged” by 8:20 am today.
What’s up with that??
Kerner has proven that not only CAN manufacturing jobs be lost (his company folded under competition; Phil English…then congressman from here…studied this for 6 months and said “we need more exports”).
Phil was the only one personally criticized in the piece, but if you go to Erie Blogs, it now looks like this as a post:
http://www.theguyfromerie.com/2010/07/14/why-manufacturing-jobs-cant-be-lost-economics-101/
Erie Blogs may be malfunctioning on one post (although it was up and running just fine; maybe Phil English read it and had a fit; or….Heidi had a cup of coffee and said
“Mr. Kerner! Tear down this wall!”…..
and she was NOT pointing at the kitchen wall.
Failed business; Mr. Kerner.
Failed blog; Mr. Kerner.
Slamming other bloggers with differing opinion; Mr. Kerner.
The Guy From Erie took a hit at college grads, economic studies, development groups, just about everybody.
He ended with this insightfully diddy:
“I always have to think twice before posting stuff like this.
I did. And that, my friends – to quote Paul Harvey – is the rest of the story.”
Either someone un-plugged the post, or Mr. Kerner is finding “The Rest of The Story”….only right now.
Ps. Heidi’s extensive pictures at the left side of the hubby’s blog (near the bottom) far exceed the quality of the picture in P&T.
Jeez…in the time I wrote this, The Guy From Erie set up an old post for you to reread. What a controversial way to begin a new blog. Paul Harvey is heard spinning in his grave.
