Hulu seeks a piece of the cash action

OK, so you fork out $70-80 a month for digital cable, another $9 or more for Netflix, not to mention your $14 Sirius/XM, and $15+ newspaper subscriptions. Now the TV networks behind Hulu are hoping that you’ll share a ten-spot for unlimited access to your favorite TV series. Introducing Hulu Plus

What do you think? Is $10 a month for TV worth the same as $9 a month for DVD and streaming movies?

This media stuff for the consumer is getting expensive!

Looks like the broadcasters want a piece of the entertainment pie. With news of Obama approving more spectrum from broadcast channels to wireless providers, it looks certain that broadcast TV as we know it will become history in a decade. It will be a loss for local news and free sports programming including NFL games. ABC / ESPN has already moved a bulk of their NASCAR Sprint Cup Races this season from ABC to ESPN with ABC only having two for the Chase. I think Fox would do the same with FX if more cable providers carried FX. Fox has carried NASCAR exclusively during their first part of the season after not being able to get FX on more cable outlets. I’m sure this will change eventually as the races will go to FX or Speed. Yes, it’s all about the Benjamins Joel.
