Poll: Hamot communicating the merger

In our poll about Facebook’s privacy reputation, P&T respondents tend to be quite vigilant about their privacy settings and what content they share on the popular social network. About a quarter said that they watch what they post but will stay on Facebook, while a fifth are so worried that they may drop the service. Another quarter said that they are not worried, as long as they stay smart about it.

There continues to be a high-profile PR battle playing out on Erie’s media pages and screens regarding talks between Hamot Medical Center and larger hospital systems, specifically UPMC of Pittsburgh.  On the other side of the debate is the Erie County Executive Barry Grossman, who issued a dire warning in an Erie Times-News Op-Ed, along with various other letter writers, and doctors interviewed on the evening news.

In Monday’s paper, another “Your View” column was published, penned by the hospital’s CEO and Board Chair. How do you think they are doing with managing their message?

How well is Hamot handling the merger PR?

  • Poorly: it's been a image disaster (41%, 9 Votes)
  • Too early to tell: the jury of public opinion is still out (36%, 8 Votes)
  • Just fine: they are on-message and communicating well (23%, 5 Votes)

Total Voters: 22
