For being 111th market size, CBS3 has the same amount of reporters/anchors that WSEE has. Kinda suprising. Scott McDonnell may not last here but its refreshing with Lisa and Scott M. doing the news instead of Mr. Bremner.

Checking the CBS3 web site, it appears to be a low-power satellite of WFSB in Hartford, which has always served as the CBS station in Springfield, albeit with a limited news presence on the Mass. side of the state line. WFSB is a long-time powerhouse (I grew up watching shows like Sky King and Ranger Andy on it, one of the few stations you could get in Greenfield, MA), but I don’t know if if this LP is a major news player in Springfield, which has two long-time Massachusetts-focused newsrooms in Channels 22 and 40.

He went from the 111th ranked market in Springfield to the 146th in Erie? I thought the idea in local tv news was to slowly move up to the bigger cities. I guess he wanted to be an anchor REALLY badly and didn’t want to wait for a better opportunity.

Yes, I noticed the new anchor combo on WSEE as well. I believe the last market Scott McDonnell worked in was Springfield, Mass. He was a reporter.

Noticed the last couple of nights that 35 has hired a new co-anchor to work with Lisa Weismann.
