This weekend I’m (or rather the organization I work for is) contributing to the advertising economy of the Erie metro with a community newspaper and cable TV buy to promote McLane Church’s Christmas Eve services. I must say it’s fun to do the basic creative tasks of design and production in order to compellingly communicate a message. Well crafted content still gives a rush that is the reason those of us who are or have been practitioners in media got into the business.
What gives you a “tingle up your leg”? When the air personality you enjoy hits the post of your favorite hit? Laying out the perfectly balanced print piece? Putting together a solid newscast?
Take a moment to weigh in on what you are enjoying or are concerned about this week in media. Leave a comment, drop an email or tweet us @pressandtower.
Embrace the chaos!

Just saw that George Michael…as in “George Michael’s Sports Machine” passed away after a 2 year battlew with cancer. I believe he was also a jock at WABC back in their top 40 hey-day.
Yes, George was at WABC during the 1970s and WFIL back in the 60′s. Some of his airchecks are online at reelradio.com and also musicradio77.com.
Did anyone else see this???? My family and I were watch Wheel Of Fortune on WSEE this evening. At 7:06 they go to a commercial break and here comes the end of WICU’s news then; the CBS evening news comes on; then the end of WICU’s news credits appear; then the color bars appear. Finally, there is a taping flub with Kevin McDowell. What’s happening at 12/35??? Are they trying to add comedy to their mess???
Frustrated in nwPA.
