joel Long time Erie Otters hockey broadcaster Mark Jeanneret, who heads for Portland to broadcast for the AHL Pirates, has been replaced, according to staff reports in Tuesday’s Erie Times-News.
Paul Roper will become the broadcaster and media relations manager for Erie’s Ontario Hockey League team, coming in from the Trenton Devils of the ECHL. The 24-year old Roper graduated last year from Seton Hall University, where he was the voice of men’s and women’s basketball. Other credentials include broadcasting baseball for the Newark Bears of the Atlantic League.
The Otters kickoff their regular season schedule on Sept. 18th at Sudbury.
