The Corporate Suits that run the radio world are giving me, the radio listener, the end consumer, a bad product, and the thing is, I know it. Why do I continue to support a bad product. I don't know.

You see, I listen to radio, maybe more than I should, but radio, to me, is the better medium. It's still the "Theatre Of The Mind". Radio has not been compromised and exploited the way television has.

Just today, I received mail correspondence from Time Warner proclaiming that I will get I great deal if I add Time Warner Phone Service to my existing Cable and Internet Service.

WHAT? Are you serious?

I hate the garbage you put on my screen now. Why the heck do I want a name and phone number on my screen too. Haven't you guys destroyed my view of my favorite program enough? You say Free HD? Whoopie. Now I see your stupid logos with crystal clear vision. Give me a Logo Eradicator.... then we'll talk.

Another good product that went bad from Corporate involvement. Oh Well......

Maybe so, Mr. Gallagher, sir, but is Chris the only person who listened to Erie radio and was inspired by Erie radio. I have a story too, sir, and I'd like to share Erie radio with the rest of the world from MY PERSPECTIVE. Perhaps, a collaborative effort is what is in order.

No need to build an Erie Radio tribute site. Chris Tarbell created one several years ago. http://erieradio.tripod.com/. K104, JET and now, WRIE are represented.

Hi there:

I thought I'd jump in to see if anyone in the Press & Tower community would like to be part of an effort that we're putting together to create a show on Erie cable that will talk about some of the key issues facing Erie's economy.

As part of the effort, we'd like someone who can moderate a weekly on-air discussion and contribute a blog to GlobalErie.com. We have some folks with credibility who are willing to put the muscle behind this to make it work. But we need a talented person who can go on air and be an objective host.

It could be a great side project that will help us bring change to Erie. E-mail me if you're interested in talking more.

I was fortunate to watch coverage of Walter Cronkite's death on The Early Show on WKBN out of Youngstown. I did check for it on WSEE but nothing was on. It was nice to see comments from not only those at CBS but also anchors on other networks giving praise to a class act all the way.

Does anyone know where I can get my hands on some old music surveys from WRIE AM 1330, K104 and JET 14? I'm also looking for old station id clips. I'm trying to build an Erie radio web site. I would like for the folks in New York and Los Angeles to connect with us here in Erie. There has to be a future "Rush Limbaugh" or a future "Don Imus" living here in Erie.

To Morning Mayor Frank, I say that I have loved listening to you for many years. You and Captain Dan have been among my best teachers. I sure hope that you come out of retirement to share some of your radio stories. Perhaps, you could put them in the form of a book. I'll tell you what.... I'd read any book with you as the author.

It's true, that we can't benefit from the talents of a Don Kelly, John Kanzius or an Oogie Pringle, but we, the future Erie radio people, can learn so much from you, if only you will come back to the microphone.
